How to Enter:
-Register by Wednesday, May 1st. 
-If you miss the online entry deadline, in person sign-ups will be open from 11am-12pm the day of the event. 

Judging: 
-On the day of the event, check-in with staff at the Cosplay Contest table. Staff will take your picture which will be used for judging. Pictures will also be included in a "Cosplay Catwalk" display. 

-Groups will be judged according to the rules that would apply to the the oldest contestant in the group (see rules below). 

Rules:

-Rules for adult contestants: Costumes must be of original construction OR show modification of pre-existing materials. No costumes are allowed that are purchased or obtained from a commercial source (ex. a rented costume or one that has been purchased from a Halloween store).  It is expected that some costumes may include some purchased items. At least 50% of the costume must have been created or altered.

-Rules for ages 17 & under: There are no costume rules for the 17 and under categories, however more weight will be given to handmade costumes. 

-Each contestant may enter either as an individual or as part of a group, but not both. If entering as a group, have only 1 person register for your group. Contestants may not participate in multiple groups. 

-This is a family friendly event in a public space. Costumes must not violate any library policies or laws regarding indecent exposure. While we encourage participants to cosplay their favorite characters, please ensure that you are adequately covered and that any language in print on costumes or props is not offensive or derogatory. SHOES & SHIRTS MUST BE WORN IN THE LIBRARY AT ALL TIMES. 

-No live weapons or steel of any kind will be permitted. This inlcudes items capable of firing projectiles. "Disarming" and "peace knots" will not make an item that may be considered a live weapon permissible. Only prop weapons made of foam, rubber or plastic and that are not capable (by design) of firing projectiles, will be allowed.
