Three Rivers Public Library Foundation
Almost 50 years ago, in 1976, the Three Rivers Public Library District was formed to serve the residents of Channahon and Minooka. The library took up residence at a former pool hall on Tryon Street in Channahon and opened their doors for services. By 1981, a new library had been built, which is the current main location on Channon Drive, and in 1992, the Minooka Branch location opened in the former Masonic Hall.
With the growth of our areas in the last 2 decades, the need for expanded service is at a critical mass. Neither library location has the space, technology, or capacity to adequately meet the needs of the families of our district.
With this in mind, the Foundation was formed in late 2023 with the express purpose to “lead a capital campaign toward the construction, expansion or renovation of a library building(s) within the Three Rivers Public Library District.”
This is a unique opportunity for our community to build a legacy for today and into the future.
