Iron Bridge TrailheadJoin us for a walk at Midewin Iron Bridge Trailhead to discover how restored bison are shaping the prairie! Registration required. Children must be with an adult.
Meet our presenter at Midewin's Iron Bridge Trailhead for a light, 1-mile stroll as we discover how a restored herd of bison are shaping the landscape to bring back the tallgrass prairie as nature's great gardeners! Then, wind down with a story, surrounded by the sights and sounds of the prairie.
We will be outside for the entire program, so be prepared to have fun outdoors, rain or shine! Attendees are advised to bring a water bottle.
For families of all ages. Registration required. Children must be accompanied by an adult.
For more information about the trail and meet-up location, visit: https://www.fs.usda.gov/r09/midewin/recreation/trails/route-53-trail. Registered participants can also navigate to the "Midewin Long Grass Parking Lot". There will be a sign for where the trailhead begins. Our route will begin here and then take a short section of the Henslow Trail to the bison pasture.
Please note there is no guarantee that the bison will be nearby or visible that day.
