HOW TO ENTER
Click "Register" and complete the entry form by Sunday, May 4th. (Limited same day sign-ups will be available 12-1pm the day of Fan Fest).
Individuals: Select "Individual" as the Entry Type.
Groups: Have only 1 person submit a form for the group. Select "Group" under Entry Type and list the names of each contestant within your group. Contestants may not enter with multiple groups. If a group wishes to add additional people AFTER submitting an entry form, they must contact the library at info@trpld.org by May 4th. Otherwise, the group will need to do a same day sign-up at the event.
If a contestant wants to enter both as an individual and as part of a group, that person must submit a form for individual entry AND submit a second form for a group entry OR have their name included on a group entry form submitted by someone else.
JUDGING
Judging will be from 12:00-1:00pm at the Cosplay Contest table for contestants that enter by 5/4. If such a contestant arrives after 1:00pm, they can return to the table no later than 2:00pm for judging. (Contestants that enter same day will be asked to come to the table at 2:00pm for judging).
RULES
Adults (18+) & Teens (13-17): Costumes must be of original construction OR show modification of pre-existing materials. No costumes are allowed that are purchased or obtained from a commercial source (ex. a rented costume or one that has been purchased as a full costume online). It is expected that some costumes may include purchased items, but at least 50% of the costume must have been created or altered.
Ages 12 & under: Full costumes may be purchased. However, more weight will be given to handmade or modified costumes.
DRESS CODE
This is a family-friendly event. Costumes must not violate any library/school policies or laws. While we encourage contestants to cosplay their favorite characters, please make sure that you are adequately covered and that any language in print on costumes or props is not offensive or derogatory. SHIRTS & SHOES MUST BE WORN AT ALL TIMES.
NO live weapons or steel of any kind will be permitted. NO PROP GUNS ALLOWED ON SCHOOL PREMISES and no other props will be allowed that are capable by design of firing projectiles. Disarming and "peace knots" will not make an item that may be considered a live weapon permissible. Only props made of foam, rubber, or plastic and not capable by design of firing projectiles will be permitted. These guidelines extend to all attendees regardless of participation in the cosplay contest.
COSPLAY SHOWCASE
All contestants are invited to show off their work to Fan Fest attendees in our closing Showcase! The showcase will begin at 3:30. Contestants will be asked to return to the Cosplay Contest table at 3:15 to line up. Each contestant will be announced and will then have 30 seconds to strike poses for the crowd! (No skits or performances. Poses cannot involve any obscene or rude gestures). After all contestants have completed their walk-ons, contest winners will be announced. Showcase walk-ons will NOT impact contest judging.
