Official Program Dates

June 12 - July 22


The official start for summer reading is June 12.  If you need to create or update an account, you can do so now, but be sure to return to join the challenge on June 12! Challenges will show as available to join once the official program begins and can be joined any time during the program.

If you already have a Beanstack account: Log in to your account on the Beanstack website  If you don't remember your login, use the 'forgot username' or 'forgot password' options, or, call our library for assistance. To join the challenge, on or after June 12, log in to your account and click  "Join" on the available challenge.  Then you'll be able to log your reading!

Parents:

Be sure to update your child's profile with their current age and grade. The reading challenge for your child's age group will then be available for them to join on their profile, starting June 12.

If you're new to Beanstack: Visit the Beanstack website or download the app and follow the prompts to create a new account at anytime. Then, log in on June 12 to join the Summer Reading challenge.

Adult Summer Reading (18+)

The adventure begins as you Find Your Voice this summer at Three Rivers Library with prizes, gift card drawings, and Grand Prize Drawings, just for reading! Keep track of your reading time to earn badges, prizes, virtual tickets and more.

Here’s how it works:

  • Read 240 Minutes (4 Hours): Earn 2 virtual raffle tickets for the Grand Prize Raffles
  • Read 480 Minutes (8 Hours): 2 virtual tickets for the Grand Prize Raffles & entry to the bonus prize raffle
  • Read 720 Minutes (12 Hours):  3 virtual tickets for the Grand Prize Raffles
  • Every 240 Minutes (4 hours) increment read and logged, for a total of 2160 Minutes or 36 hours, earns an additional virtual ticket for the Grand Prize Raffles
  • Read 2400 Minutes (40 hours): automatic entry for a separate Super Reader Bonus Prize Raffle
  • Program Perks: Attend our virtual adult programs and listen for the secret word to enter as an activity in Beanstack for even more virtual tickets for the Grand Prize Raffle

Every time you log reading times, you'll be automatically entered into our random gift card drawings! Grand Prize Drawing tickets are not automatically entered. Once you have earned Grand Prize Drawing tickets, be sure to view the prize choices and enter your tickets for the raffle prize you wish to win. Only one Grand Prize can be won per person. Winners of the Grand Prize Drawings are eligible for the bonus prizes and the random gift card drawings. Most prizes must be picked up at the library, in-person or via curbside. 

* Only materials read during the summer reading program, 6/12/23-7/22/23, are eligible to be logged. All reading minutes must be logged by the end of the program, 7/22/23.

Youth Summer Reading (Birth-17 years)

Starting June 12, kids and teens will be able to register for the Three Rivers Summer Reading challenge on Beanstack and start logging to earn badges, prizes, and tickets towards our grand prize baskets! If you have an account from last year, you can use the same login information.

Summer Reading has officially ended, so don't forget to pick-up your prizes!

  • All virtual tickets for the Grand Prize basket drawings must be entered by July 29.
  • Winners will be announced July 31.
  • The last day to pick up prizes is August 5.

Read to Me Club

Birth through 5 years
Parents can help their babies, toddlers, and preschoolers log minhow many books are read, log activities, or both. Earn points as you log, up to 500. Every 20 minutes logged, earns 50 points. Activities earn 25, 50 or 75 points.

Readers entering grades 7th to 12th will choose your own adventure. Log minutes you spend reading, complete activities, or both. Earn points as you log, up to 500.

    • You should only log books or reading minutes starting June 12.  Any books you read or time spent reading must be done between June 12-July 22 to count towards summer reading. If you’re logging minutes, you don’t have to finish a book before July 22 for the time you spent reading it to count, simply log the time you have already put into reading the book.

    • For Read to Me Club, books read aloud both in person or online count.

      For Kids & Teens, you can log minutes you spend reading books (print or digital), graphic novels & comics, magazines, news articles, fanfiction, or audiobooks.

      For Adults, books, audiobooks, and ebooks read during the summer reading program, are eligible to be logged.

      All items must be logged by the end of the program, 7/22/23.

    • For Youth:

      Earn points by logging books, reading minutes, and activities. As you log, Point Badges are earned. Some badges award prizes and raffle tickets. You'll be notified when you have been awarded a prize or raffle ticket. Prizes earned by point badges can be picked up at the library starting July 5. 

      For Adults:

      For Adults:

      Virtual prizes will be sent to the email you used when registering your account. 

      Other physical prizes can be picked up at the Channahon Library.  You will be notified if you win a random gift card drawing or the Grand Prize drawing.

    • Virtual tickets can be redeemed in Beanstack immediately after earning a badge that awards them. All virtual tickets must be entered by July 29. Winners will be contacted by email and/or phone by the second week of August. Prizes for the Grand Prize Drawings can be picked up at the Channahon Library anytime during library hours. Prizes must be picked up by Saturday, September 2.
