History of the Chicago Auto Show
Tuesday, December 01
6:30pm - 7:30pm
Join Historian Mitch Frumkin for a captivating journey through Chicago’s annual automobile exhibition, starting from the inaugural show in 1901 and continuing through to the 2026 edition.
This dynamic production showcases the growth, expansion, and commitment to upholding the title of "The World's Greatest Auto Show."
Enjoy a blend of rare vintage photographs, video footage, audio recordings, and musical backgrounds, all designed to capture and convey the thrill and splendor of 118 years of automotive celebrations.
See classic automobiles from the early era, vehicle debuts, decades of dream cars, concept vehicles, muscle and pony cars, ultra-exotic supercars, imports from around the globe, and the newest innovations in alternative powertrain technology.
Following a Q&A session, there will be drawings for pairs of tickets to the February 13-21, 2027 Chicago Auto Show, along with products donated by Turtle Wax, and copies of the 194-page book titled "First To One Hundred - History of First 100 Chicago Auto Shows."
