Love the graphic novel series Real Friends? Join us for a virtual visit with author Shannon Hale and illustrator LeUyen Pham! Registration required. (All ages)

Join us on Zoom for our virtual author event with writer Shannon Hale and illustrator LeUyen Pham! They will talk about their popular graphic novel series "Real Friends", answer your questions, and share an engaging activity! 

Shannon Hale is the New York Times best-selling author of over forty children's and young adult books, including graphic novel memoirs Real Friends, Best Friends, and Friends Forever, and multiple award winners The Goose Girl, Book of a Thousand Days, and Newbery Honor recipient Princess Academy. She also writes books for adults, such as Austenland. She co-writes books with her husband Dean Hale, like the Eisner-nominated graphic novel Rapunzel's Revenge and best-selling illustrated chapter book series The Princess in Black. She lives with her husband Dean and their four children near Salt Lake City, Utah.

LeUyen Pham (pronounced Lay-Win) is the award-winning and critically acclaimed illustrator of more than one hundred books for children including the Princess in Black series, Alvin Ho series, and many others. LeUyen is also both the author and illustrator of several books: Big Sister Little Sister, There’s No Such Thing as Little, A Piece of Cake, All the Things I Love About You, The Bear Who Wasn’t There, and Outside, Inside. She is also the co-creator, along with Shannon Hale, of the groundbreaking bestselling graphic memoirs  Real Friends, Best Friends, and Friends Forever. LeUyen lives in Los Angeles with her husband Alex (who is also an artist), and their two sons.

About the library

Opened in 1981, the Channahon Library contains collections for adults, children, and teens; access to public computers, fax, and scanning; and a teen room.  It serves as the administrative headquarters of the library district.
